Levana only reminds you when going out is actually worth it: the night is inside your minhag window, you have not marked this month as said, and the sky where you are is forecast to cooperate — if tonight is hopeless and a clearer night is still in the window, the reminder moves to that night. Marking it said stops them until the next molad.
A web page that is closed cannot wake itself, so the reminder above only appears while Levana is open. The calendar file fires either way.
The dial on the Map tab turns with your phone once motion access is allowed. Without it the dial stays north-up and still shows the moon’s bearing.
On the home screen Levana opens full-screen, with no browser bar in the way, and the seder and your saved place are there without a signal.
